    FAQs

Why is my cat defecating outside the litter box?

    Possible causes and solutions:
    1. Unfamiliarity with the litter box:
Mix some used litter from the old box to help your cat adjust.
Place the new unit in the same location as the old one.
Keep Auto Cleaning off until your cat adapts.
    2. Insufficient litter:
Refill when the level is below the MIN mark.
    3. Dirty or unclean litter:
Replace clumped or damp litter and clean the unit if it hasn’t been
    washed in over 2 months.
    4. Physical or psychological factors:
Observe your cat for other unusual behaviors and consult a
    veterinarian if necessary.

How big is the litter box? What size cats can it hold?

The litter chamber capacity is 60L with a 150mm raised base and a wide 240mm entrance, making it easy for cats to enter and exit. It’s suitable for cats up to 10kg, allowing them to turn around comfortably. The cave-like design provides a natural, secure space for cats to use the litter box.

Is this litter box safe? Could it trap my cat?

UAHPET uses a one-piece drum design with the waste bin positioned at the back. The litter chamber always rotates as a whole, keeping the entrance open at any angle. There is no closing mechanism, completely eliminating the risk of trapping your cat.

What if my cat is afraid to use the litter box?

    1. Add a small amount of your cat’s used litter into the new litter box
to help it recognize the scent.
    2. Place the automatic litter box where the old one used to be to
    minimize environmental changes.
    3. For timid cats, disable the Auto Cleaning feature initially and
use manual cleaning until your cat adapts

How effective is the odor control? Will it smell?

The litter box features a semi-enclosed chamber and a fully enclosed waste bin to effectively block odors.
Its one-piece stainless steel design prevents urine leakage and odor buildup.
The waste bin is equipped with dual deodorization — negative ions + an odor-absorbing box — for extra freshness.

What type of cat litter is compatible?

What type of cat litter is compatible?
The litter box is compatible with clumping bentonite, tofu, and
mineral litter. For best results, use litter with a particle length
    no longer than 15 mm.
Do not use dusty, non-clumping, or crystal-type litter, as these may
affect cleaning performance or block sensors.

Why are the buttons not responding?

If you hear three “beeps” after pressing a button, please check the following:

If the child lock light is on, the unit is in child lock mode. Hold the Clean + Empty buttons for more than 2 seconds to unlock.

If the waste bin indicator is solid red, the bin is full and needs to be emptied.

If there are no “beeps,” restart the unit to see if it resumes normal function.

Is it normal for the cleaning cycle to take a long time?

    1. A full cleaning cycle should finish within 5 minutes.
    2. If a cat or person is detected in front of the unit, the radar sensor will pause operation, which may extend the cleaning time.

Why isn’t the litter box cleaning automatically?

    1. If a cat or person is detected in front of the unit, the radar sensor will pause cleaning.
    2. After your cat finishes using the box, it first covers the waste, then waits 8 minutes for clumping before starting the cleaning cycle.
    3. Check in the app if Auto-Clean is turned on.
    4. Check if Do Not Disturb Mode is enabled in the app and currently active.
    5. If you recently added litter without leveling it, the weight data may be inaccurate. Try pressing the Power/Leveling button or restarting the unit to restore normal function.

Why does it still show “waste bin full” after I replaced the bag?

    1. Open the top cover and check if the infrared sensor above the waste bin is dirty. Wipe it gently with a cotton swab or dry cloth.
    2. Make sure the waste bag is properly fitted and not blocking the infrared sensor.

Why does it still show “lid not installed” even though it is?

Open the lid and check if the infrared sensor is dirty. Clean it gently with a cotton swab or dry cloth.

When should I add more litter?

Refill when the litter level drops below the MIN line in the chamber.
If your cat uses the box less frequently due to low litter depth, add more litter.
Before leaving home for an extended period, fill the litter up to the MAX line.

How often should I empty the waste bag?

    1. When the red indicator on the waste bin lights up, empty it promptly.
    2. It’s recommended to empty the bag every 1–2 days according to usage, to ensure the litter box can clean automatically.
    3. For a single-cat household, one bag typically lasts 12–14 days.

How often should the deodorizer packs be replaced?

It is recommended to replace it every 30 days, depending on your cat’s usage.

How do I disassemble and clean the litter box?

    1. Refer to the cleaning and maintenance video for guidance on disassembly.
    2. Precautions before cleaning:
Use warm or cold water only.
Do not use hard brushes, steel wool, metal brushes, or scrapers to avoid scratching the surface. Use a soft cloth, sponge, or silicone brush instead.
Use mild, neutral detergent or a cat-safe cleaner. Avoid strong acids, bases, bleach, or heavy-duty cleaners containing phosphates, chlorine, sulfuric/hydrochloric acid, or caustic substances.
    3. Basic cleaning steps:
Soak the parts in warm water for 5–10 minutes to loosen residue, then wipe with a soft cloth or sponge with detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry.
Method 1: Mix warm water with a small amount of vinegar or lemon juice, pour into the drum, let sit for 5 minutes, then wipe with a soft cloth or sponge.
Method 2: Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda into the drum, add warm water, soak for 5 minutes, wipe with a sponge or soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly.
    4. Always dry the metal drum completely before adding litter to prevent mold from forming on the inner walls.

How often should I clean the litter box?

Monthly: Perform routine cleaning by removing the lid, waste bin, and drum. Take out the drum’s backplate, sifter, and litter for cleaning.
Every 6 months: Perform a deep clean by also removing the guide plates inside the drum to clean all areas thoroughly.

The litter box seems to remove too much clean litter during cleaning. What should I do?

Please check the four hand screws on the back panel of the drum and make sure they’re tightly secured. If the screws are loose, the drum may not rotate properly and could scoop out extra clean litter by mistake.
